SB's
release and green knights in shining armour!
Milinda reportedly wants to meet Satellite to discuss SB's release
from jail. He was probably kept waiting for a good three hours before
getting to meet the lady and this is what could happen thereafter…
"Thank
you for agreeing to see me, even though it took some time to get
an appointment…"
"Its difficult to find time, you see, with Mahathirs and Clintons
and Lalkanthas all wanting to meet me…"
"But
as you always demonstrate, it is better late than never…"
"Yes, but what can I do for you?"
"Well, er…, hmm, I thought you knew what it was all about…"
"No,
honestly, I know nothing about anything. I only know you wanted
to see me urgently…"
"But the newspapers are already full of stories…"
"As you know, I don't read newspapers, not those that you read,
anyway…"
"Well, it is about SB…"
"Why, what has he done now?"
"It is about getting him released early…"
"But
the highest court in the country has dealt with him and decided
that he should be in prison for two years…"
"Yes, but you could always pardon him…"
"And why should I do that? Because he is writing a book about
me?"
"That is something we can talk about…"
"Why,
is he saying that he will not write a book if he is released?"
"Well, he can always write the book; it is what he says in
the book that will matter, won't it?"
"But who bothers about books anyway? Your leader recently published
a book and nobody seems to have taken any notice…"
"But just imagine how popular you would become if you pardon
SB…"
"So, you want him released so that my popularity will increase,
is it?"
"I
can't honestly say 'yes' to that, of course…"
"But the problem is, the man has never asked me for a pardon;
All he has to do is to write me a letter which is much more easier
than writing to newspapers from his prison cell…"
"That
is a bit difficult for him to publicly undertake…"
"But if he doesn't want to be released, who wants him released?"
"We as a party would like to see him released, of course…"
"But your party hasn't asked me either…"
"But
just imagine, if you don't release him, he will be a hero when he
comes out in two years…"
"Who cares about that, that will be well after the next elections
and I will be even more firmly in charge then…"
"We know that you are not too worried about the next election…"
"Of course I am not, I haven't even thought about having one…"
"But I have to be worried…"
"Why
is that?"
"Why, if he comes out after two years as a hero and our Boss
takes over, he will become the PM…"
"That's a bit far fetched but why does that bother you so much?"
