FCCISL thanks WPC for suspending BTT increase
The Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka (FCCISL) last week expressed the "appreciation and gratitude" of the business community in the western province to the Chief Minister Reginald Cooray and the council for their consideration in withholding any increase in BTT, especially in the construction industry.

"The prompt decision made by you, will definitely be an encouraging factor towards the business growth in the region, which controls over 50 percent of Sri Lanka's economic growth," the chamber said in a letter to Cooray.

The FCCISL is the apex body of the Sri Lankan private sector having 46 trade and Industrial Chambers and Associations affiliated to it, representing over 10,000 businesses in Sri Lanka.
