and this was due to Tikiri’s honest words of wisdom... Tikiri
has an “Amma” who takes him to school and back taking
care of him during the interval as well. No “Amma” can

because of the distance, due to his inability to meet his village
friends and also because city schools are very large. Tikiri keeps
on behaving mischievously as a result. His

becomes a nuisance to that person. Tikiri becomes lonely as no one
seeks to keep company with him. Living
in a world of his own, Tikiri, lives on his fantasies. In that dream
world he comes across many mischievous characters fairies, Snow

his friends in the dream world. Tikiri
comes across, talking trees, singing bushes, rivers of sugar, chocolate
houses. Tikiri makes friends with all these. He talks with them.
He tells these things to his schoolmates and parents. But no one
believes him. In the meantime, Tikiri acquires the gift to talk
to objects in his environment, the wind, the river and the leaves.
                They
make friends with him, because he is quite sensitive to the environment,
he acquires knowledge and an instinctive awareness about everything.
But he has no one “with whom he can share these experiences.
Sandamali a girl friend from his school who listen to his adventures
              becomes a good friend. Sandamali
persuades Tikiri to behave well while showing him many interesting
places in the school. In return Tikiri tells her stories about his
dream world. He teaches Sandamali how to speak with the environment
and Sandamali takes Tikiri to visit her family. Seeing Sandamali’s
grandmother, Tikiri is reminded of the kind grandmother in the chocolate
house in the dream world. Both look alike. Later
on Tikiri realizes that there are many people in the real world,
who are similar to those in the dream world. Sandamali shows many
things to Tikiri. Both of them learn from the grandmother the stories
