Coca Cola contests High Court order on My Cola
The Supreme Court on Friday rejected a plea from Coca Cola International USA and Coca Cola Beverages (Sri Lanka) Ltd, makers of Coca Cola (Coca Cola) for an interim injunction against Pet Packaging (Pvt) Ltd, makers of My Cola, but allowed the appeal against an order by the Colombo Commercial High Court.

The hearing has been fixed for March 18. The bench comprised Chief Justice Sarath N Silva, Justice N. Udalagama and Justice Shirani Thilakawardene. Coca Cola filed an application in the Supreme Court to set aside the order of the Colombo Commercial High Court Judge K T Chitrasiri who refused to issue an order against My Cola barring it from producing certain shapes of bottles to pack their product.

K Kanag Eswaran PC with Dr Harsha Cabraal instructed by Julius and Creasy appeared for Coca Cola while S L Gunasekera with Dinal Philips and F Wadood instructed by Varners appeared for My Cola.
