New website for Golden Chimes
A web page for the Golden Chimes, Lanka’s oldest living band, was launched recently by the EAP Technologies Limited. Lankika and the Golden Chimes, the longest running band in Sri Lanka will be completing its thirty fifth year in 2005.

‘Our web site will feature all the details of the band , how it began, the original line up, the days with Clarence, top hits in the Lankan Charts and all other details’ said Lankika.

‘We invite all our fans to visit the site and see the history of Lanka’s oldest band’ she added. Golden Chimes started its operations in 1970 and is the only band in Sri Lanka to function without and break for the past 34 years.

To mark the anniversary, Golden Chimes will be on bandstand with a galaxy of stars from 70’s to 2004. The Anniversary Concert will be held at the BMICH towards a latter part of the year 2005.

The web site for the band is www.goldenchimes.com. The band will be in action at the Saman Villas in Induruwa for the New Year celebrations. Nihal Dane Asmond, the former vocalist of the band has rejoined the line up as the front-line singer.
