Hemaka to help chart Singer's global progress
Hemaka Amarasuriya, Chairman of Singer (Sri Lanka) Ltd and one of Sri Lanka's highly respected business professionals, has been appointed the vice president of Singer NV worldwide by the group's global board. This appointment comes due to his exceptional contribution to date and the potential inbuilt in him, company officials said.

Amarasuriya who joined Singer (Sri Lanka) Ltd in 1973 as factory controller rose to the position of Chief Executive Officer/Chairman in 1986. While serving as the vice president of Singer NV he will continue to serve in the management committee of Singer Asia as well as Singer NV worldwide.
