Alethean Kiddies Camp
By Ishani Ranasinghe
It was a day of fun away from the books. August 2 was a day that promised to be an adventure. The young students of Alethea International School and Alethea School gathered in their school compound to get their first look into what camping is all about. Organised as a part of the ongoing process of making education a fun experience, students of Grade three and below of Alethea School and students of Primary Three and below of Alethea International School took part in this camp.

The excited campers to be, leading up to the camp, were busy learning camping songs and the games we all have come to love, eagerly waiting for the day to come to show off what they have learnt. When the day finally dawned, the young students put into practice what they have learnt in the classroom, and all in all it was a nice experience for them.

Having a variety of events lined up for the day, the games tested the young campers skills of memory, speed, balancing, climbing and creativity in the outdoors. To make the day memorable the grand finale for the evening was a campfire organised by the Boy Scouts of the schools.

It was a truly unforgettable experience for these youngsters and as they walked away happy and a bit tired after a day full of fun. They are all waiting eagerly to become Scouts or Little Friends and to experience another campfire.
