Not only in Greek Mythology, but Neptune re-lives in the southern part of the Western Province of Sri Lanka. Located on a sandy beach at Beruwala, the hotel is just two hour drive away from hustle and bustle of Colombo.

It has 144 spacious rooms consisting of 84 main building rooms, 20 garden wing rooms and 40 bungalows. “All our rooms are fully air-conditioned and with sea view. The hotel is well over 20 years old and most of our rooms are large not like present day rooms” said Lakshman Dias Abeysinghe, the General Manager of the Hotel.

The 40 bungalows have private gardens and sitting rooms. The latest addition to the hotel is a fully equipped Ayurveda Centre, which opened its doors to visitors last November. This is in addition to the present Ayurvedic Herbal Massage Centre.

This is the only purpose built Ayurveda Centre in Sri Lanka, where the hotels are concerned, said Janaka Buddhakorala, the Ayurveda Centre Manager. Over the years hotel Neptune has earned a name as one of the top destinations in Sri Lanka for a holiday of a lifetime.

“The service at the hotel is excellent according to the feedback and courtesy is our motto.” said GM Abeysinghe. Sri Lankan traditional dishes are always rewarded though the hotel is on par with all international gourmet requirements. It offers both Western and Eastern cuisine including Chinese and Indian specialties.

Apart from the main restaurant, Naptune has a Beach Restaurant, Pizzeria and four bars. Two outdoor Swimming Pools are an attraction of the hotel, where Water Sports play a major role with its overseas visitors.

Apart from that, Badminton, Tennis, Table Tennis, Cycling and all popular Indoor Games are available at the hotel. “Theme Nights, Cultural Shows, Tea Evenings, Sama Ballet and magic shows are other special events we organise from time to time” the GM said.

Boat Safaris in Bentara river, visiting Turtle Hatcheries around the area and Kande Vihare Temple are some of the popular excursions available at the hotel. According to the extension centre, some natural loving guests are keen on visiting the Sinharaja forest, for bird watching or even to Ambalangoda to see the Wood Carving.

Neptune sells as All Inclusive destination to both Sri Lankan and overseas visitors. Its facilities include unlimited local liquor, local beer, unlimited non-alcoholic beverages and unlimited snacks.
