Search for missing Ports Ministry vehicles begins
By Harinda Vidanage
Ports and Aviation Minister Mangala Samaraweera has ordered his deputy Dilan Perera to seek the help of the CID to trace 27 vehicles missing from his ministry, when he took over duties this week.

The Sunday Times learns that Mr. Samaraweera has requested the former minister Rauff Hakeem to return these vehicles which had allegedly been used for election activities. Until Friday there had been no response and the vehicles had not been returned. However Mr. Hakeem was present when the new minister took over duties.

Meanwhile Dr. Sarath Amunugama is also urging Mr. Hakeem to vacate his official residence to allow him to occupy it as his official residence. The official residence of former Minister S.B. Dissanayake will be occupied by the new Ports and Aviation Minister Mangala Samaraweera while Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakse will be moving shortly to Visumpaya, the state guest house, as he will not be residing at Temple Trees.
