Milinda tipped to be UNP chairman
The UNP is planning to restructure the party after the setback suffered at the April 2 general elections."There will be changes. The names of those who will be assigned top posts will be revealed after the Working Committee meets next month", Mahinda Samarasinghe, Opposition Whip designate said but refused to comment further on the new appointments.

UNP sources however said among those who would be assigned positions would be S.B. Dissanayake, Gamini Lokuge, Rajitha Senarathne and Imthiaz Bakeer Markar. According to the initial discussions so far, UNF sources affirmed that the chairmanship is likely to be given to Milinda Moragoda and the post of General Secretary to Imthiaz Bakeer Markar.

The Trade Unions are tipped to come under Gamini Lokuge and Rajitha Senarathne while S.B. Dissanayake is set to be appointed the National Organiser.
