TNA sweeps board amid shock defeats
While several senior Tamil politicians contesting under the Ilankai Tamil Arasu Katchi (TNA) lost, LTTE's transport chief Kanagasabay Canagarathnam who contested under the ITAK from the Wanni District has been elected.

LTTE's Pongu Thamil Chief organisers' wife, Padmini Sithambaranathan, who contested from Wanni under the ITAK, which swept the board in the north, also won.
