Thurstan crush Revatha MMV to record their first outright win
The Thurstanites recorded their first outright win in the ongoing inter-school cricket tournament when they crushed Revatha MMV Balapitiya by an innings and 177 runs. This was incidentally the only outright win recorded from the matches played for the week. Of the other matches played during the week, the high riding Isipathanians continued their winning spree when they overcame fancied St. Sebastian's on the first innings.

Meanwhile the Josephians maintained the lead in Group 'A' followed by Ananda, Prince of Wales, Lumbini and Isipathana who jumped from the eight position. While in the Group 'B' St Anne's Kurunegala replaced St Mary's Kegalle who were the leaders for the last two weeks with Rahula College Matara, Trinity and Sri Jayawardenapura MMV Kotte following them.

Thurstan vs Revatha MMV
The Thurstanites crushed the hapless Revatha MMV who are making their debut in the top division by an innngs and 177 runs. An unbeaten century by Shehan Perera and two more half centuries by Thilina Masmulla and Indika Galagoda laid the foundation in Thurstan making a masive 333 for 5 declared and had Revatha reeling on 24 for 4 on day one. Resuming on day two the Thurstanites made short work and dismissed their opponents for 63. Revatha MMV left with a deficit of 270 runs were sent into to bat again but were unable to make much improvement and were bundled out for 93.

Isipathana vs St Sebastian's
The Isipathanians had the Sebastianites on nine pins when they sent them reeling on 32 for 7 in reply to their score of 223 on the opening day. It was pacie Tharaka Waduge with figures of 4 for 12 being the cause of the Sebastian debacle. An interesting finish was on the cards on day two with the Sebastianites needing another 91 runs to face the agony of being invited to bat again. But fight back they did and recovered to make 135 thanks to Lahiru Antony and Jehan Fernando. Waduge added two more scalps to end with figures of 6 for 31. Isipathana batting for the second time made 130 which left St Sebastian's a target of 219 to win and ended the game on 131 for 5.

Prince of Wales vs Dharmapala
Prince of Wales though making a mammoth 361 for 6 had to be satisfied with a first innings win over Dharmapala. By batting almost the whole day on the opening day they spoilt their chances of gaining an outright win.

Ananda vs Maliyadeva
It was a high scoring game where the Anandians helped by an unbeaten 153 from J. Sriyapala making an imposing 325 for 7 declared and not to be outdone Maliyadeva replied with 257 with two half centuries coming from V. Soysa and S. Karunanayake. Ananda batting the second time helped by two half centuries by P. Boteju and A. Athulathmudali made 202 for 2.

St John's vs Sri Rahula
A six wicket haul by skipper Tharanga Ravin helped St John's Panadura to record a first innings win over Sri Rahula Katugastota. St John's defended their modest score of 166 thanks to Tharanga with figures of 6 for 36 which enabled to bowl out their opponents for 137. St John's batting the second time made 189 setting the visitors a target of 219 to win. Sri Rahula ended the day on 89 for 2.

Raddoluwa MMV vs Joseph Vaz
Joseph Vaz Wennappuwa the other team that is making their debut in the top division is also finding the going tough at the top level. This time becoming the victim of Raddoluwa MMV at Katunayake. An allround performance by Gayas Christopher who first made 75 supported by another 72 from Lakmal Sanjeewa in helping Raddoluwa MMV score 243 for 9 declared.

Then with figures of 5 for 18 he helped his side to bundle out Joseph Vaz for 112, asked to follow on the Joseph Vaz were 139 for 6.
