Netherlands Film Festival for Children
The Netherlands Films For Children 2004 will be on show, in association with Winson Films International at the Elphinstone Theatre in Maradana. The film festival presents a total of seven quality films from the Netherlands for children and youth. The film week comprising films full of comic complications and adventures will be held from February 7 to 13 at the Elphinstone.

Tibbe, junior journalist who is about to be fired by his editor, Alex, twelve year clarinet player with his peculiar hobbies of collecting skeletons of birds and small pets, Abel, the fearless young lift attendant, little Crumbs who does not know his parents and who considers the road is his home and little Peter Bell who is able to turn the whole city of Rotterdam upside down with his wit and humour are some of the characters who come to play at the Netherlands Children’s film Festival in Colombo.

This is the second Netherlands Film Festival For Children in Sri Lanka and the first film festival of this nature was held in 1997. The two “regular” Dutch film festivals in 2000 and 2002, organised by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and Winson Films International attracted thousands of Sri Lankan spectators.

Every film will be shown three times, on different days of the week. Shows start daily at 10.30 am, 2.30 pm and 5.30 pm and entrance is free of charge. Large groups (ten or more persons), such as school classes, should make advance bookings with Entertainment Unlimited at 011-5355411 (tel.) or 011-5355412 (fax). Tickets are also available at the gate of Elphinstone Theatre one hour before the show.
