Shine shises in the Lankan music scene
‘Sanjaya and Shine’ is a three piece band created by three experienced young musicians famous for their innovative ideas and creations coming from the traditional musical city of Moratuwa.

‘Sanjaya and Shine’ comprises Sanjaya Jude Silva, Shanthilal Kodagoda and Jayalani Anosha. Sanjaya Jude Silva, who plays keyboards and holds the band together as the leader. He had his studies at St. Peter’s College, Bambalapitiya.

A lover of music from his childhood and now holds a bag of 14 years of experience in this field. During this period he has proved his talents through his contributions with “Rajiv & the Clan”, “Simple”, “Romance” and “Crystel Set”.
Shanthilal Kodagoda is the most experienced member in the line up, who plays the guitar. He is a Cambrian and for 23 years he performed as a talented guitarist and a drummer. The Bands such as “Deep Radiance”, “Modesters”, “Golden Chimes’ and “Crystel Set” have obtained his services during this perioD.

Jayalani Anosha is the main vocalist of the trio. She had her education at Holy Family Convent, Dehiwala. From the very early stages she has proven her abilities as a singer and continues to be the vocalist in the group during the past 10 years. “Romance” had her as their female vocalist during the height of their fame.

“At present we play at Tangerine Beach Hotel in Kalutara, Blue Oceanic Beach Hotel in Negombo and Pegasus Reef Hotel, Wattala. In addition to that, we play at Mount Lavinia Hotel on most of their wedding ceremonies.” Sanjaya explained ‘Singing according to the audiences is our secret and we are able to present any type of musical creations suited to any occasion’ Sanjaya said.
