Tony Whitham's rhythm to best performance
A large does of Whitham's rhythm came back to Tony to help him exhibit a wide array of exceptional skills which carried him to a splendid score of 42 stableford points and be judged the best from 120 participants representing Nuwara Eliya, Victoria & Royal Colombo Golf Clubs in the inaugural 3 club tournament. A versatile Golf Club was an extremely popular winner judging from the responding applause he received at the award ceremony with Nola his attractive wife joining in for good measure.

Great spirit
An extremely competitive event with the best from each Club participating one identified a great spirit of friendliness prevailing. An excellent idea to get together at festive X'Mas time the inaugural; event was a huge success.

Witham wins
Tony Whitham won comfortably and coming behind was Joe Boy Perera with 39 points. Then we had 3 clever scores of 37 points each coming from the Club heads of Malik's brother Lalin Samarawickrema podgy Mithun Perera and rookie Sheron Fernando. All 3 of them from the Royal Colombo. Ranil Pathirana representing N'Eliya excelled with 36 points and got a great cheer. 120 participated averaging 40 from each Club.

Royal Colombo moved well ahead with 516 points to beat N'Eliya on 495 & Victoria 480 and take the handsome award. The scores of the first 15 were taken into account in the reckoning for the winning team.

Self destruction
The disaster zone picked up a harvest of strayers. The pond boys were jubilant, the kids in the out of bounds village were delighted to meet and greet a massive crop of balls and there was an awakening from under the tombstones over the wall running alongside the 6th fairway. Chanmugam a classy player raised absolute hell. R.L. Dias picked aquaphobia & Rohitha Fonseka got lost in the woods had to use a compass to reach the fairways.

Prize giving
Carols and candlelight with a few fingers scalded turned out most enjoyable supported by an excellent choir led by Ron Bakelmun from the spiritual end of the hall. Johnnie Walker & Smirnoff were poured out at massive discounted rates and the gorgeous collection of a happy crowd had a helluva good time moving into a high class oriental Buffet with relish. Nola Whitham, Niloo Jayatilleke, Dushy Boralessa and Anushka and her Aunt Marie de Silva were absolutely refreshing to the eyes and caught attention. Thoroughly enjoyable golf and a delightfully pleasant X'mas get together thanks to that hefty man Ron Bakelmun.
