Editor/MD declines CPU offer
The Editor and Managing Director of Malayala Manorama, Mammen Mathew has turned down an offer by the Commonwealth Press Union to serve as the President of the CPU.

The offer was made in support of the role played by Mr. Mathew at the CPU.
However Mr. Mathew has declined to accept the post as his official duties as Editor and Managing Director of the Group have to come first.

In a letter to the CPU, Mr. Mathew who is also a Director of Reuters has explained that it would be unfair not to spend quality time for Malayala Manorama which has supported him for over 36 years. Mr. Mathew has stated that he will continue to support the CPU at all times.
