Kumarasinghe 67 shines for Ananda

Ananda College helped by a gritty 113-run third wkt stand between left-hander skipper, T. Kumarasinghe (with 10 fours and a six) and M. Udawatte 60 (with 8 fours) helped them to earn a hard fought first innings win over Dharmasoka Ambalangoda continued at Ananda Mawatha, y'day.

Second day's play was marred by bad light followed by rain. The Sokians made 148. Ananda replied with 201. Opener Nalaka Thenuwara top scored for the Sokians with 61 runs (with 10 fours and a six). He impressed against Royal in their earlier game at Reid Av. Nalaka turned in a fine all round performance in this game, too. Ananda after being 113 for 3, but Thenuwara with his off-spinners (5 for 36) ran through the middle order batting. The Sokians in their second essay were 104 for 4, N.M. Silva 36 n.o., (with 6 fours) batted best.
