Swift,
angry reaction from JVP
Hours after the LTTE proposals were announced, the JVP yesterday
strongly rejected them and accused the government of giving into
the LTTE demands.
Parliamentary
Group leader Wimal Weerawansa in a swift and furious reply said
the proposals formed the foundation for a separate state, about
which the JVP had regularly warned the people.
He said the
LTTE had used its powers to get what it wanted and it seemed the
government was again ready to give in. He said in other countries
peace talks included compromise, but here it was a one-way process
with the Sinhala and Muslim communities being left out of the picture. |
