Clothes line

Life or lies?
I'm 17 and during my lifespan have been through quite a lot.

I'd like to share my views on life, or is it a lie? Seriously, consider this, every day an average student goes through the same routine every day and night; wake up, school, come back home, classes and sleep… what time do we ever have for ourselves?

Even for parents, whether they work or not, it's the same sequence of events, am I right?

So I'm asking you, are we leading a life or just a lie? We hide so many things from our parents, teachers, friends, and each other including ourselves.

We lie to everyone, even ourselves about how good we look, our grades, etc… it is so hard to find something that will please us, isn't it? Even if it is about a guy or a girl we just have to look for perfection.

Isn't it true that we are always trying to please everyone else, and most often forget about ourselves? I've had many such experiences and wish to tell everyone out there not to give up hope.

Just yesterday my best friend told me something when I was feeling really down.

She told me, "Don't worry… once you're way at the bottom, there's nowhere else to go but up again…" and that is definitely true.

I think that it is something that we should all learn to do, instead of giving up hope.

Every time we are at the bottom, we should learn to climb up and start over.

As a matter of fact we all live and learn, and sometimes we have no choice but to learn it the hard way… so remember if you are feeling sad, discontented and the whole world is against you, just reach deep down inside you and you will always find a good friend in yourself.

Then you will learn to love yourself for who you are. If you think that it's of no help you can always turn to the next best thing in your life, your best friend; be it your mum, dad, brother, sister or just someone you've known for a long time or short but someone you know very well.

So always remember to give others the freedom to be themselves and appreciate the differences between their ways and yours.

Be yourself and learn to love the life you lead.

Freedom
Feel stifled
Walls closing in
No choice, no break
Everything decided... for me
Yet not by me
Want space
Space to breathe, to run
To bang my head against the wall
Need to be me
Just me and only me
Not the person they want
Not the person they expect
Just me and nobody else…

I found this piece of paper in a cemetery
If I go North or South
East or West, or somewhere else
Has happiness ever come to my life?
If there is a bitter capsule
Or a sweet sugar-coated pill
That can be swallowed easily
Which kills poverty or gives
Strength to live peacefully.
If there is a doctor kind hearted
Without wearing spectacles
That cover humanity.
A bed with a mattress
To kill the back-ache
Then I can sleep in a graveyard
Or in a thick forest
Listening to the birds and beasts.

Exam flu
Wake up early and get ready
Take up all the books so heavy
Walk quickly to the library
To start the day, with studies steady.

Clock seems to turn unusually fast
Work seems to be extremely vast
Life seems to be a massive blast
When stuff studied in our heads doesn't last

Studious students, who have fared well,
Make the others, feel dead scared
Giving answers with no doubt
Knowing the syllabus, in and out

Some see nightmares and they can't sleep
Some are ready for a clean sweep
Cram like machines with no rest
This turns to be a real pest.

When time runs quickly and the days go by
Our hearts beat faster and we don't know why
Some get panicked and some get fever
Some shiver and sweat all over

Severe headaches and smarting eyes
Frozen feet, just like ice
Fearful thoughts without any clue
We're all down with the exam flu!!!
