Addition to Dream Team
Michelle Fenando, our cover girl this week, is the newest singer to step into the limelight of the local entertainment scene.
Michelle, who joined the new Dream Team outfit just a few weeks back is already the talk of the town.

Like her sister Natasha, who was the lead singer of Dream Team, Michelle sings with this new 'Dream Team outfit'.

"She is extremely talented and sounds as good as her sister. The band is already in the club circuit of Colombo, performing three nights a week and getting ready to unleash the fire for the coming festival season, "said Malcolm Perera, the Manager of Dream Team.

Malcolm has introduced hither to unknown talent to the music scene since 1986. Some are now top names in the scene here doing pretty well. Most of them are abroad performing with top bands around the world.

Ayesha Gunasekera, KJ, Evettee, Usham of the band 'Friends,' Chaminda of 'C&C', Riza and Rohan of 'Sound Journey', Raja Mendis, Mangalaand Rozanne Fernando of 'Aquarius' fame, Ranji of 'Ecstasy', Sriyantha of band 'Pearl', Lulu of Gypsies, Sanjeeva, Chamari and Yasasri, who perform in Oman are some of the ex-DreamTeamers.
Ayesha and Evette are in the United States working with ethnic music groups. Husband and wife Ushan and KJ is now in Germany and ex-Dream Team member Mano Silva is performing with an Austrian band in Vienna.

Also Roy Attapattu and Prasad Liyanage, who were the members of 'Ayesha and The Dream Team' are now performing with a band "Freak Out" in Switzerland.

The Dream Teamers Suresh, Jude, Sheon are now playing in Dubai.

'All of them are real professionals and doing well in their fields', Malcolm said.
The new Dream Team outfit is also a creation of Malcolm and he is determined to push them to the top.

We are like one big family. Still most of the ex-members of Dream Team come for me for various things. I help them as much as they need a hand, not only musically but in personal capacity as well. I think I'm like a father to them. That is the bondage I have', Malcolm explained about his venture in music the scene.
"Most of these top talents were complete beginners when they joined Dream Team. I taught them, desciplined them, encouraged them and shown the right way", Malcolm added.

Michelle's sister Natasha is now singing in Doha for a short period and she will be in town for the festive season.

'I think we badly need a music academy in Sri Lanka. But right now Dream Team is just like an academy and hope to continue with bringing new talent to the music field of Sri Lanka', Malcolm said.

'When clients call me for musical needs, they may have various requirements. Various musicians need to fulfil these needs. A five piece band certainly can cater to these needs. The Dream Team family can fulfil the necessary requirements of the client', Malcolm explained about his strategy for the season.

New Dream Team outfit comprises Ashendra, Mohan, Michelle, Ashan and Dinesh.
