A car traveling at maximum speed on the Southern Express Highway overturned and caught fire at Dodangoda yesterday, police said today.
The driver who was the sole occupant at the time of the incident managed to escape unhurt, they said. Personnel from the Special Task Force (STF) along with the regional fire brigade rushed to the scene and doused the flames. However the vehicle was completely charred, police added.
