Two thousand persons will be put on election monitoring duty on September 08 by the People’s Action for Free and Fair Elections (PAFFREL), said Sujeewa Gayanath, National Coordinator of PAFFREL.
He told a press conference held today at the Center for Society and Religion on the progress of the election monitoring activities and regarding plans of PAFFREL on election monitoring that in addition 100 mobile monitoring teams will be placed in the seven districts.
He said that even though the number of complaints received on election violations this year is comparatively less with past years, it can not be stated that the elections this time will be completely free and fair given the current situation.
