Two children were stabbed to death and their mother sustained cut injuries in an attack carried out by her paramour in the Godakawela police area of the Ratnapura district, a senior police officer said.
The woman is reported to have an argument with the man leading to the incident.
The suspect has been arrested.
The victims were identified as Dimuthu Lakshan (12) and Ravishka Viduranga (6).
