The Secretary of the Sri Lanka Teachers' Association Mahinda Jayasinghe was ordered by the Gampaha magistrate to be present in court tomorrow in connection with a remark to the media that the Year Five scholarship examination question papers were leaked out.
He was wanted by the the CID to obtain a statement in this regard but did not comply with the request.
Police Media Spokesman SP Ajith Rohana quoted in the government media said Jayasinghe had attributed his information to a telephone call he received about the alleged leak. At a media briefing on August 26, the Teachers Association alleged that the Year Five scholarship papers had leaked out. Commissioner General of Examinations M.N.J. Pushpalumara lodged a complaint to the CID in this regard
