An estimated 500,000 pilgrims are expected to throng the age-old St. Anne’s Church in Thalawila tomorrow (August 05, Sunday) as the church marks its 250th year anniversary.
Already some 200,000 people have already arrived at this Roman Catholic Shrine situated at Thalawila situated on the north-western coast, according to reports from the area.
Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith is set to officiate at the high mass to be held at the church tomorrow and he will be assisted by the Parish Priest Luke Nelson Gamini and several other priests.
