Rugby: Kandy crushes CR at Nittawela

Kandy Sports Club crushed CR&FC by 47-7 in a Dialog Division ‘A’ that looked more like a one-sided affair at Nittawela today (21).

As predicted CR&FC could not put much pressure on the defending champions who lost the lead once during the first quarter of the game.

Kandy opened scoring with a penalty but CR&FC quickly took the game onto their hands by scoring a converted try which became their solitary source of scoring.

Kandy regrouped and went on to score tries, one after another as they led at half time by 18-7.

After a total tally of eight tries, two conversions and a penalty Kandy SC walked out winners by 47-7.

Yes! Giant Kandy SC did it again. CR's hopes and aspirations are scattered. Now again Kandy SC have to prepare for the crucial game against arch rivals Havies, at the same venue. So, it will be a daunting task for Havies to beat the defending champions in Kandy. This is a very good chance for Kandy SC to retain their unbeaten record this year too. But the only obstacle for Kandy SC is Navy SC in Colombo. However, I will always say that "Good names did not create any scares". That is Kandy SC.
