Ministry of Health has decided to deploy Police or Tri-Forces personnel with Public Health
Inspectors in dengue control activities, spokesman to the Health Ministry said.
The decision was taken due to the recent incidents in which PHI’s and other Health officials
were attacked and threatened during dengue eradication campaigns.
Earlier, Trade Unions of the Health Employees asked the authorities to provide security for
their workers following the killing of a Health Inspector during a dengue control programme in
Kantale.
