Gale-force winds experienced in several parts of the country during the night is the outcome of the forthcoming south-west monsoon and more wet weather is expected later today, an official with the Department of Meteorology said a short while ago. Thunder showers accompanied with strong winds are set to hit the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Southern Provinces later today, Met Duty Officer Pabodini Karunapala said. Isolated thunder showers will also be experienced in the Eastern, North-Central and Uva Provinces, she said.
