The Colombo bourse's turnover levels rebounded on Thursday to post Rs. 332 million, but the indices dropped rising interest rates, analysts said.
The top contributors to the turnover were Dialog Telekom with Rs. 85 million, Chevron Lubricants with Rs. 55 million and Commercial Bank non-voting with Rs. 27 million.
The All Share Index shed 21.97 points to close at 4924.61 points with Milanka seeing a 15.39 points to close at 4,357.66 and the S&P index lost 11.92 points to close at 2,797.39.
"The climbing interest rates continue to weigh on the movement of the bourse with an increasing number of investors switching to fixed income investments," an analyst said. (Duruthu)
