"Cobra girl's " FR petition granted leave to proceed

The Supreme Court decided to inquire into the alleged rights  violations of the club dancer who had been arrested by the Kollupitiya
 Police for keeping a cobra.
 
A Bench comprisedc Supreme Court Justices Nimal Gamini Amaratunga, S.I.  Imam and Ms. Chandra Ekanayake.

The petitioner  R.M.Nirosha Wimalaratne alias Dilani of  Pilimatalawa in her plaint said her fundamental right to  equality and right to do a legal occupation of her choice had been  violated by the illegal arrest, detention and inhuman and degrading  treatment of the OIC and three Police officers attached to the  Kollupitiya Police.
