ICC WC: West Indies thrash Pakistan by 150 runs

West Indies thrashed Pakistan by 150 runs in a Pool B match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 played at Christchurch today (21).   Put into bat first West Indies amassed 310-6 and bowled out Pakistan for 160 runs with 11 overs to spare.   Wicketkeeper/batsman Denesh Ramdin top scored for West Indies with a knock of 51 runs off 43 deliveries which included seven boundaries while in-form batsman Lendl Simmons hit a 46-ball 50 inclusive of four boundaries and two sixes.   Darren Bravo retired after scoring 49 off 78 deliveries while man-of-the-match Andre Russell hammered an unbeaten 42 off just 13 balls, inclusive of three fours and four sixes.   Pakistan faced an slump when their top four batsmen were dismissed at 1 and could not recover from then onwards.   Wicketkeeper/batsman Umar Akmal top scored for Pakistan with 59 off 71 deliveries inclusive of five fours and a six while Sohaib Maqsood made 50 off 66 deliveries inclusive of four boundaries and a six.   Jerome Taylor and Russell picked two wickets each.   West Indies 310 for 6 wickets (50) (Dwayne Smith 23, Darren Bravo 49, Marlon Samuels 38, Densh Ramdin 51, Lendl Simmons 50, Darren Sammy 30, Andre Russell 42n.o, Haris Sohail 2/62)   Pakistan 160 all out (39) (Sohaib Maqsood 50, Umar Akmal 59, Shahid Afridi 28, Jerome Taylor 3/15, Andre Russell 3/33, Suleiman Benn 2/39)
