Printing of ballot papers for presidential poll begins

10 October 2019 - 91   - 0

The printing of ballot papers for the presidential election began amid high security at the Government Printing Department yesterday (Oct 9).

An official at the Department said that the ballot paper is being printed based on a draft sent by the National Election Commission (NEC).

Some 10.6 million ballot papers are expected to be printed for this year's election on November 16.

The Government Printing Department is required to submit all ballot papers to the NEC 10 days prior to the election.

The NEC this week announced that the ballot paper would measure 2.2 feet in height as a record 35 candidates are contesting the poll.
