Swift solution to be given to differently-abled soldiers issues - Sajith

Minister Sajith Premadasa has said that a swift solution would be provided to differently abled soldiers who are engaging in a Satyagraha campaign citing wage issues.

He made these remarks while responding to reporters following yesterday's cabinet meeting.

The sit-in had been launched opposite the Colombo Fort Railway Station demanding that their salaries continue to be paid after the retirement age of 55 years until their death.

The protest entered its eighth day today (Sept 18).

Meanwhile, it is reported that President Maithripala Sirisena's cabinet proposal seeking to resolve this issue has been referred to the Treasury for relevant action.

However, differently abled soldiers said that they would continue to stage the protest until their demands are fulfilled.

Sajith, you will not get the minority votes unless TNA and Muslim parties support you. Focus on getting them!
