SL to ink MoU for ferry service with India

Sri Lanka has agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with India to introduce a ferry service between both countries.

A spokesman for the Prime Minister's office said that a seven-member Indian parliamentary delegation which had met with the Prime Minister had proposed to set-up this transport service.

Following the signing of the agreement, the ferry service is expected to operate between Tamil Nadu and Jaffna.

    Proposed sea bridge between India and Sri Lanka has to be fast-tracked. It will open huge business opportunities. It will also attract foreign tourists as a global landmark.
