Immigration officers at the Bandaranaike International Airport, upon inspecting the documents of the teenager had learnt that he had faked his nationality.

It is reported that the passenger had not been able to respond properly to the questions posed by the chief immigration officer in Italian language.

He had also not been able to clarify matters about the letter which he had submitted to the officers claiming that it had been issued by his school.

Steps had been taken to deport the teenager to Istanbul, Turkey from which he had boarded a plane to Sri Lanka.
