Sri Lanka will take wing to Pakistan to take part in three One Day International (ODI)'s and T20 Internationals each next month, Sri Lanka Cricket said today (Aug 23).

The ODI's would be played at Karachi while the T20I's would be played in Lahore, a statement from the SLC said.

“The PCB is pleased with the outcome of its discussions with Sri Lanka Cricket," Pakistani Cricket Board Chairman Ehsan Mani was quoted as saying in the statement.

Meanwhile, SLC Chairman Shammi Silva had stated that Sri Lanka had planned to undertake this tour after assuring that there had been no doubts on the safety of the players.

“The safety and security of its players is the responsibility of the SLC, which it takes very seriously," Silva was quoted as saying.

Sri Lanka have played just one T20I in Pakistan that too in the absence of senior players in 2017 after they fell victim to a terrorist attack outside the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore in 2009.

According to SLC, Sri Lanka is likely to play its test matches against the hosts in December.

The tour schedule for the other matches are as follows :

  • Sep 27 : 1st ODI, Karachi
  • Sep 29 : 2nd ODI, Karachi
  • Oct 02 : 3rd ODI, Karachi
  • Oct 05 :1st T20I, Lahore
  • Oct 07 : 2nd T20I, Lahore
  • Oct 09 : 3rd T20I, Lahore
