Corruption case against Keheliya fixed for October 1

A corruption case filed against former mass media minister Keheliya Rambukwella and another two individual has been fixed for October 1 by the Colombo Chief Magistrate's court.

The former media minister has been accused of misusing state funds worth nearly Rs 231,000 of the State Printing Corporation (SPC) to pay his private phone bill between March 15, 2012 and April 14, 2012.

The High Court has issued an interim order on hearing the case until September 16 after the accused had challenged the magistrate court’s decision to reject their preliminary objections over the case.

Former SPC Chairman  Jayampathy Bandara has also been named as an accused in the case.
