In pictures : Beira passenger boat service launched

The passenger boat service of the Beira Lake from Union Place to Colombo Fort was launched today (August 22) under the patronage of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.

The boat service will be maintained by the Sri Lanka Land Reclamation and Development Corporation in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Navy.

Passengers will be provided with free rides during the first month as a promotional offer. Ministers Patali Champika Ranawaka and Arjuna Ranatunga also participated at today's launch.
