Galle Face Hotel hosted day two of CFW Swim Week Colombo. The Hotel was bursting with activity recently, as guests were excitedly waiting for the event to begin. Models and invitees of the event merged as everyone was superbly dressed.

The outdoor venue provided the perfect place for the second day of the fashion showcase. The sounds of the waves hitting the shore blended with the music, as the models walked down the runway in their colourful swim and resort wear.

The first half of the show saw Sonali Dharmawardena, Aviva, Wraith and Pigeon Island take the stage. The bright flame of the Sonali Dharmawardena collection was the highlight of the first half. Sonali Dharmawardena is known for creating fusions of traditional and ancient styles.

Her specialty lies in working with natural fabric using wax as a resist and dye to create her own signature lines of fabric. The colours of the collection she presented perfectly echoed a flame, with reds, golds, oranges and even the occasional green pieces that stood out amongst a sea of red.

Koca by RN, La Pard, Verandah and Maus took to the stage during the second half of the show. Among the rest La Pard stood out for its beautifully crafted batik, vivid patterns and elegance. Dinushi Pamunuwa has created a Luxury batik clothing brand specialising in lingerie, nightwear, eveningwear and resort wear.

Similar to leopards and their unique design, La Pard does not have two pieces that look the same due to the wax resistant dyeing technique.

The collection that Dinushi showcased this year saw colors that are kept to a basic to reminisce the black and whites with the hues of gold and silver bringing the shine to the feminine elegant silhouettes. The glittery pieces added to the elegant stripes, and animal like pieces made the band pup out like a shiny beacon above the rest
