Australian Prime Minster Scott Morrison has said that Australia stands proud to have assisted the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) in its investigations following the Easter Sunday attacks.

In a letter addressed to Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, Mr. Morrison recalled the assistance extended by the Australian Federal Police to the CID in the aftermath of the terrorist bombings.

The letter was in response to Mr. Wickremesinghe's congratulatory message on the former's re-election to office. "I am proud of our collaboration on counter-terrorism," Mr. Morrison said adding that Australia was willing to support Sri Lanka in securing long-term security.

He added that he was looking forward to collaborating and work together on shared challenges in the Indo-Pacific region and globally.
