Ex-Air Force Chief Roshan Goonetileke appointed SLC's Chief Security Advisor

Former Air Force Commander Roshan Goonetileke has been appointed as the Chief Security Advisor of Sri Lanka Cricket with effect from yesterday (Jun 17), SLC said in a media release.

He would be tasked with enhancing SLC's security affairs related to all home and away tours, and the security of the national and junior squads, players, coaches, ground security and also spectator security.

“We take security as our top priority, when it comes to any form of cricket, since having a secure environment helps teams and players to engage in healthy competition,’’ SLC President Shammi Silva was quoted saying in the press release.

Mr. Goonetileke, who joined the Sri Lanka Air Force in 1978 as a helicopter pilot rose to the rank of Air Chief Marshall, before being appointed as an Air Force Chief. He had also served as the Chief of Defense Staff afterwards.
