Golf: Indika shoots 7 Under Par to take lead

Veteran golfer J.M.D. Indika, fired an amazing seven Birdies and an Eagle on the 17th, to shoot a seven under 65 (2 Bogeys) and take the lead by one stroke at the end of Round 2 at the Lectra Grand Prix 2019 May Edition at Koggala. 

Sri Lanka Amateur champion M.U. Chanaka Perera’s 1 under par gave him a total of 139 (5 under Par) after 2 Rounds to be tied for second place with overnight joint leader B.A. Sanjeewa, who returned an even par second round. 

Sisira Kumara the other joint leader overnight, slipped to joint fourth place with N. Amarapadma on 1 under par 141  the 2 round aggregate.

Day 2, appeared to be difficult to score in hot and windy conditions at the Catalina Golf Club, Koggala, with only three players breaking the Par of the course 72. 

The cut-off of the top 20 was made at 160 (+16) and the competition gets intense with the leading five players separated by just three strokes, with two more rounds to be played.
