Golf: Veterans Sisira Kumara and Sanjeewa share lead at Lectra Grand Prix

Veterans G.P. Sisira Kumara and B.A. Sanjeewa fired sensational five under par opening rounds to be joint leaders just one stroke ahead of Sri Lanka Amateur Golf Champion M.U. Chanaka Perera in third place a further stroke ahead of fourth placed Sampath Kelum. 

The leading top four golfers mastered the Catalina Golf Club Course in Koggala, in strong windy conditions. 

Sisira Kumara fired seven birdies, whilst Sanjeewa shot five Birdies and an Eagle, on their way to five under par. 

Chanaka Perera, scored six birdies whilst Sampath Kelum fired five.

The beautiful and neat Golf Course in Koggala, well groomed, 9 hole Par 72, was not that easy to score in windy conditions but the top 10 after Round 1, were just 1 over par on 73. 

The May Edition of the Lectra Grand Prix, is powered by Apparel Technologies, Bobbin Group of Companies. 

As the stiff competition for supremacy continues, the cutoff will be administered after Round 2 and Round 4 Tournament continues at the Catalina Golf Course in the SLAF Golf facility.
