CSE trading resumes on Tuesday

23 April 2019 - 20   - 0

The Colombo Stock Exchange in consultation with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka started trading and related market operations on Tuesday.

The CSE observed a minute’s silence this morning once the regular trading session started after the Open Auction (at around 10.32 a.m.) on the Automated Trading System (ATS) as a mark of respect to the victims of the tragic events that took place in Sri Lanka on Sunday.

The CSE imposed a trading halt on the ATS for one minute at around 10.32 a.m. on Tuesday. The Regular Trading session started thereafter as scheduled.

The CSE was closed on Monday after a curfew was imposed in the country on Sunday, following the attacks.

On Tuesday at 12.40 pm, the All Share was down by 2.97 per cent to stand at 5,439.93 with The S&P down by 3.49 per cent to show 2,615.60 on a Rs. 134 million turnover. (Duruthu)
