Scope Cinemas, a well-known motion pictures exhibitor in Colombo, today announced the launch of a new Dolby Atmos enabled screen for movie enthusiasts, making it the first Dolby Atmos screen to be launched in Sri Lanka.
Dolby Atmos, the award-winning Dolby sound technology, is known to offer an immersive audio experience for cinema-goers. It revolutionizes the experience of sound in entertainment, delivering a more natural and realistic sound-field, transporting people into the story with a lifelike, sensory experience, a statement from the organizers said
Unlike traditional channel-based sound systems like 5.1, 7.1 and 11.1 that require filmmakers to think about the number and location of speakers, Dolby Atmos® allows them to simply designate where in the cinema space each sound should be placed or moved to make audiences experience the film as if they were within its world. Moviegoers can now experience cutting-edge audio at any Dolby Atmos® screen near them.
Naveen Cader, Chairman Scope Cinemas, was quoted as saying “We are extremely excited to be the first exhibitor in Sri Lanka to introduce Dolby Atmos. The immersive sound technology helps us differentiate our offering and we are committed to bring in the best-in-class experiences to our audiences. We look forward to opening more screens in Dolby Atmos in other parts of the island.”
Commenting on the announcement, Mr. Thushan Rangana, CEO Scope Cinemas, stated, “The launch of the new screen marks a significant milestone for us as we bring one of the most innovative cinema technologies to our patrons. We are confident that the immersive audio experience of Dolby Atmos will prove to be a unique attraction for movie-goers in Colombo.”
Cine Digital, a system integrator & a leading cinema solutions provider, extended consultation and its expertise in this first Dolby Atmos® Screen installation in Sri Lanka.
