Police use teargas, water canons to disperse university students protest

Police have used water canons and teargas to disperse university students who are protesting opposite the University Grants Commission.

Heavy traffic has been reported around Maradana and Borella owing to this protest which is being staged by students of the Sabaragamauwa University.

Ward Place has also been completely closed off due to this protest.
