Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) is most likely to replace the Head Coach and Manager of the Sri Lanka cricket team after the ongoing South Africa series, according to reports.

According to reliable sources, the changes are likely to take place targeting the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup, and SLC officials have met the Minister of Sports, Harin Fernando to update him on the development.

At the meeting, the SLC officials and the Sports Minister have had a lengthy discussion on the Head Coach and Manager of the Sri Lanka cricket team, it is reliably leant.

However, the Minister of Sports, when inquired by the Sinhala Daily, Lankadeepa had told that he had discussions with the SLC officials with regard to the appointments of officials for the ICC Cricket World Cup.

"Yes, there was a talk about the Head Coach and Manager of the cricket team, but I seriously think that I'm not the person to comment about it. The SLC is planning on a possible work plan for the World Cup and they will continue the discussions among themselves, and will update me on the decisions they have made," the Minister stated.

SLC Chief Executive Officer, Ashley de Silva confirmed that they did meet the Sports Minister to discuss on strategies and other matters with regard to the national team for the World Cup.

"We did meet the Sports Minister to have discussions on strategies and about the best combination for the upcoming World Cup. It was an internal discussion and we are still having discussions on what would be the best combination for the all important event. It's too early to make any statement on anything right now," de Silva told TimesOnline.

I still feel the selection is not fair, real strengths of each players should be considered before you choose for the national side, technically very poor compared to most other nations, they don't contribute to team needs, they don't try to secure themselves by delivering better results, senior players never behave according to the game situations,no eyes on the deliveries, no attempts towards singles and doubles, most of he time shot selection is very poor. New comers are wasting their opportunities, best players who score double centuries in domestic levels Stay on the bench without having an opportunity.

I honestly think it's a bad time to change the head coach of the team with only 2 months prior to the world cup. This, I believe is something to do with the self belief of the players themselves. We sure are going as the underdogs to the world cup but all hopes will lie on our players not the coach. So whatever the problems happening within the players and their minds needs to be dealt with. #SLC

Srilanka never trusted local coaches for national side in the history ,player are not stick to their responsibilities in the middle ,Hathurusinghe has nothing to do he may advised as much as possible to players what should ,what should,nt , changing Hathurusinghe not the only solution for poor team performances,it's matter of mentality of all officials ,players ,trainers, all should get together and trust can do policy
