4 April 2018 - 84   - 0

Parliamentarian Venerable Athuraliye Rathana Thera said that the Yahapalanaya Government has betrayed the principles it stood for. Addressing the Parliament, the Thera further said that he cannot vote against the No-Confidence Motion (NCM) on Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.

The Thera, who though elected from the United National Front (UNF), sits as an independent MP in Parliament, stated that the country was currently in an extremely unstable situation.

He pointed out that the current Government has constantly decried the previous regime under the principles of good governance. While his disagreements with the previous Government remains, the present Government has done far worse.
