Passion play by Centre for Performing Arts draws crowds in Jaffna

The Annual Passion Play staged by the Centre for Performing Arts (known as Thirumarai Kalamanram and Ranga Kalakendraya) was held recently at the Open Air Theatre of the Centre for Performing Arts at 238, Main Street, Jaffna.

 The Play titled 'Velliyil Gnayiru', symbolically meaning 'In Death is Resurrection' highlighting 'Liberation through the Cross', is based on a script by Rev. Fr. N.M. Saveri, Founder Director, Centre for Performing Arts, updated and directed by Mr. Johnson Raj Kumar, Deputy Director of the Centre.

The play drew hundreds of locals and visiting tourists to the Open stadium in Jaffna for three consecutive days from March 22 to 25
