Legacy of Lionel Wendt : A lecture and exhibition of photographs on this month

Commemorating the legacy of Lionel Wendt with a lecture on his work and an exhibition of photographs and the Lionel Wendt Memorial Fund hope to keep his memory alive. A photographer, musician and art collector who made a great contribution to the creative field - the Lionel Wendt Art Centre which was established in his name is famous among
many in Sri Lanka, and the fund hope to make the work of the man behind the centre known as well.

On Saturday, November 11 at 10 a.m. at the Lionel Wendt Art Centre, Lal Hegoda will deliver a lecture in Sinhala titled ‘Appreciation of Lionel Wendt through his photography - thoughts and techniques behind the camera of Lionel Wendt in the early years of Sri Lankan photography’. The lecture will focus on the technical aspects of Lionel Wendt’s photography, with an analysis of some of his photographs in order to help people understand his work better.

Thirty  selected photographs taken by Lionel Wendt himself will be exhibited alongside the lecture. The exhibition will continue held from November 11-18 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Both events will be at the Lionel Wendt Art Centre.
